Kerala: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday initiated a criminal contempt of court case against one of the lawyers practicing before it, advocate Yeshwanth Shenoy [Suo Motu v Yeshwanth Shenoy].
Interestingly, a division bench of Justices A Muhamed Mustaque and Shoba Annamma Eapen also appointed Senior Advocate Seemandini VP as counsel to assist the Court to conduct the proceedings against Shenoy as per the Rule 15 of the Contempt of Courts (High Court of Kerala) Rules, 1971.
Interestingly, a different plea was recently moved by Shenoy alleging that only a very limited number of cases are listed each day before a sitting judge of the court, Justice Mary Joseph, when other judges have to deal with hundreds of cases daily.
